Als je een tand mist, kun je je daar z\u00f3 voor schamen dat het je leven beperkt. Met een busje en een klapstoel gingen we op pad, de zon gebruikten we als lamp en we trokken de tanden gratis. De nood was hoog: soms zaten mensen dik twee uur te wachten tot ze geholpen konden worden.<\/p>\n<p>Toen ik als tandarts in Rotterdam terechtkwam, dacht ik dat ik niet zulke schrijnende situaties zou tegenkomen. Niks bleek minder waar. Ik begon pati\u00ebnten gratis te helpen, eens per week op donderdagmiddag. Het waren veelal daklozen, doorgestuurd door hulpverleners.
